Dowell Middle School Band

There will NOT be sectionals scheduled for the week of Jan. 5-9.  This will help all of us get acclimated as we return to our school schedules and routines.  Miss Moy and I are planning to resume sectionals at the regularly scheduled times on the following week, January 12-16.

On January 23rd, MHS is hosting a side-by-side concert for all the 8th grade students coming to us in the fall. Wind Ensemble players will combine with the High School Honors Band and Symphonic band members  will combine with the HS Symphonic I band.  All percussionists will combine together and play an ensemble at the beginning of the concert.  The concert will begin at 7:00pm and is followed by a DJ party!  The rehearsal for this concert is held the day before, after school.  We tag a pizza party on to this rehearsal. As soon as we return from the break, there will be handouts with specific information.

To create a new web account you must use your full legal name with regular capitalization and spacing as your user name: "jsmith" will NOT work; while "John Smith" will.  Additionally, your E-mail address cannot be your user name. (The quotes are for emphasis only for the purpose of this explanation.  Do not use them when you create your account name).  For security reasons, this web site will not recognize handles such as "bandstudent08" or "kjones."  New account submissions are reviewed by the Webmaster and typically approved within 24 hours.  If you continue to experience problems, contact the Webmaster.

• All band parents need to sign up for the CHARMS web site as well.  CHARMS is a different tool that is external to our Booster site. Instructions are included in the CHARMS article.

ALL BAND STUDENTS

Please create your account on the CHARMS web site.  This site is an administrative tool used by the band directors to manage student enrollment information.  It is a separate site from the Booster Band web site you are currently reading! Handouts, forms, assignments, and calendar events will be posted to this resource. However, all information about Band events and McKinney ISD's Fine Arts program will stay up-to-date on this Booster site. Registration on CHARMS also allows the directors to send E-mail announcements to you. Putting in this information will be the student's first official grade. See the attached instructions on how to input information into the Charms website.
