Ben Cook

Assistant Band Director

Benjamin Cook is in his seventh year as an Assistant Director at McKinney Boyd High School and Dowell Middle School. His teaching responsibilities include leading the MBHS Symphonic Band 2, co-teaching the marching and other concert ensembles, and teaching Concert Band at Dowell Middle School, as well assisting the other feeder middle school bands.

Mr. Cook earned both of his degrees from Texas Tech University, where he studied clarinet with Dr. David Shea and performed in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble under Dr. Sarah McKoin. Mr. Cook additionally studied under Dr. Janice Killian and Dr. Keith Dye for his graduate work.

Mr. Cook has previously served as an Assistant Director for three years at Frenship High School in Lubbock, Texas.
